Sonu Sood opens up about his arrest warrants
Bollywood star Sonu Sood on Friday opened up about a non-bailable warrant issued against him by a court in Ludhiana in connection to a fraud case.
Sonu took to X stating that he was summoned to be a ‘witness’ in the matter in which he has no involvement.
The warrant was issued by Ludhiana judicial magistrate Ramanpreet Kaur.
He wrote: “We need to clarify that the news circulating on social media platforms is highly sensationalised. To put matters straight, we were summoned as a witness by the Honourable Court in a matter pertaining to a third party to which we have no association or affiliation. Our lawyers have responded and on 10th February 2025 we will give a statement that clarifies our non involvement in the matter.”
He clarified that he was neither a brand ambassador nor associated with them in any capacity.
“This is just for unnecessary media attention to grab eyeballs. It is sad that celebs become soft targets. We will take strict action in this matter,” he concluded.
According to Indian media reports, the warrants were issued for not appearing despite the court’s summons, while the next hearing of the case has been fixed on February 10.
Ludhiana-based lawyer Rajesh Khanna filed a case against Mohit Shukla, alleging that he was lured with fake investments.
Sonu Sood has been accused of indirect involvement in this case.
