Emirates ID replacement Fee for lost or damaged cards – Feb 2025
Emirates ID replacement Fee for lost or damaged cards - Feb 2025
The UAE government issues the Emirates ID to all citizens, GCC nationals, and expatriates. The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP) is responsible for the issuance of these IDs.
It is mandatory for all UAE citizens and residents to apply for and carry their Emirates ID at all times. The card is required to access government services and is used for various other official purposes.
In the event of a lost or damaged Emirates ID, individuals must approach the ICP to replace the card. Here’s a step-by-step guide to the process:
Steps to Replace a Lost or Damaged Emirates ID:
-
The first step is to visit the nearest ICP Customer Happiness Centre to report the incident. This ensures that the lost or damaged card is immediately deactivated. When reporting, individuals must present identification papers to verify their identity. Expatriates, including nationals from Pakistan and India, should bring their original passport with a valid residency permit.
-
After reporting, the next step is to complete an application form, which can be done either at a Customer Happiness Centre or through the UAE ICP app available on iTunes and Google Play. This is where individuals request the replacement of their Emirates ID.
Replacement Fees:
- The fee for replacing a lost or damaged Emirates ID is AED 300.
- Additionally, there are application fees: AED 70 if applying through typing centres, or AED 40 if applying through the eForm available on the ICA website.
Residents are advised to follow these procedures promptly to avoid any inconvenience in accessing essential services.
