Trends Over the Past Year
Throughout 2024, fuel prices varied significantly, especially in mid-year, with price hikes noted in the summer:

The price changes are part of the UAE’s long-standing policy of liberalizing fuel prices, which was introduced in 2015. These price fluctuations align local fuel prices with global oil market trends.
Encouraging Sustainable Alternatives
The government’s monthly review and adjustment of fuel prices aims to encourage residents to shift towards alternative fuels and public transportation, reducing reliance on traditional fossil fuels.
As the price of petrol continues to fluctuate, residents are left pondering whether to fill up before prices change or wait for potential future adjustments.
