Pakistan condemns Israeli airstrikes in Gaza, calls for urgent UN action

Pakistan has strongly condemned Israel’s renewed airstrikes in Gaza and the obstruction of humanitarian aid efforts, calling for decisive action from the international community.

Speaking at a United Nations Security Council meeting, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Munir Akram, accused Israel of expanding its military operations from Gaza to the West Bank. He urged the Council to take immediate and firm action against Israeli aggression.

“If this war is not stopped, the worst instincts of powerful states will be exposed, and the principles of the UN Charter will be violated,” Akram warned. He cautioned that continued violence could plunge the world into chaos, marked by conflict and destruction.

Highlighting the dire humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Akram noted that over 90% of the population is facing severe hunger due to the Israeli blockade. He described a grim reality where children are dying, infrastructure is being destroyed, and people are struggling for survival.

Pakistan’s envoy called upon the global community to take urgent measures against Israel to prevent further humanitarian catastrophe.

The statement comes amid Israel’s ongoing military offensive in Gaza, which has resulted in thousands of deaths and the displacement of millions. Pakistan reiterated its demand for concrete steps to protect Palestinian rights and ensure an end to the violence.
