Blast at mosque sends Indian Muslims in panic ahead of Eid

A powerful explosion ripped through a mosque in Maharashtra’s Beed district on Sunday morning, damaging the interior of the mosque, police said.
The police took immediate action and arrested two suspects.
According to police officials, the blast was carried out with a gelatin stick, but no casualties were reported. The incident took place when an unidentified person entered the mosque through the back door and planted explosives.
A resident of the village reported the incident to the Talwada police around 4 am, following which Beed Superintendent of Police Navint Kanwat and other senior officials rushed to the spot.
Authorities have tightened security in the area in view of possible tensions and further investigations are underway.
The incident took place just a day before Eid-ul-Fitr, causing panic among local Muslims.
