If India Builds Dams on Pakistan’s Rivers, There Will Be War: Warns Bilawal Bhutto
Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, warned that if India attempts to build dams on Pakistan’s rivers, it could lead to war. “If India tries to build dams on Pakistan’s rivers, there will be war,” he said.
During the National Assembly Budget Session, Bilawal added, “There will be another war with India over the water issue.” He highlighted the distribution of rivers in the region, noting, “India has 3 rivers, Pakistan has 3 rivers.”
He asserted that Pakistani forces would deliver a humiliating defeat to India in any future conflict. “After the war, all 6 rivers will belong to Pakistan,” Bilawal declared.
Bilawal warned India to either accept the Indus Waters Treaty or prepare for war. He also said that Pakistan has already won and India has lost at the United Nations, stating, “India’s narrative against Pakistan has completely failed.”
He stated that Pakistan has already won and India has lost at the United Nations. “India’s narrative against Pakistan has completely failed,” he said.
Bilawal noted that the US President is ready to find a solution to the Kashmir issue and that the US has recognized Pakistan as an important partner in the fight against terrorism.
He also mentioned that President Trump invited the Field Marshal to congratulate him, questioning, “Would anyone invite a defeated army on such an occasion?”
Bilawal accused India of attempting to place Pakistan on the FATF grey list and claimed that terrorism incidents in Pakistan are ten times higher than in India. “War and terrorism benefit Modi,” he said.
He emphasized that the people of Pakistan and India will only benefit from peace. “Modi wants Pakistan and India to fight over the water issue,” Bilawal stated.
Urging a change in India’s approach, he said, “India should abandon its old policies and come towards peace.”
Bilawal also accused India of supporting terrorism in Pakistan and highlighted that the people of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are more affected by terrorism.
Sindh Budget 2025-26
The chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party stated that the economic and inflation situation has improved. He assured that the PPP will support the federal budget.
Bilawal appreciated the increase in government employees’ salaries and highlighted the rise in the defense budget due to war preparedness. He also commended the increase in the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) budget and noted that relief has been provided to salaried classes in the budget. “Annual income up to 1 million rupees has been made tax-free,” he added. The increase in salaries and pensions was also described as commendable.
However, Bilawal warned that farmers are facing economic destruction and stressed that making farmers prosperous is an urgent need. He called for an agricultural emergency to be declared in the country and emphasized the need to give special focus to agriculture.
Demanding regional equity, Bilawal stated that South Punjab should be given its rightful share in the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) and urged the federal government to fund Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Addressing political issues, he said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party’s only demand is the release of prisoners, regardless of whether the issue is war or terrorism. Bilawal suggested that changing strategy will benefit PTI.
Lastly, he warned against a lobby in the country that believes the solution to every problem is building dams. “If this lobby tries to build canals, it will be a big mistake,” Bilawal cautioned.
Pakistan-India War
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari drew a sharp comparison between regional leadership, stating, “A cheap copy of Netanyahu also exists in South Asia.”
He claimed that Pakistan has already defeated this “cheap copy” on the battlefield, emphasizing the country’s resilience. “Pakistan’s narrative is one of peace,” Bilawal said.
Recalling past tensions, he mentioned that the former Prime Minister once asked, “Should I attack India?”
Bilawal issued a stern warning, saying, “This time if India attacks, Pakistan will neither be scared nor bow down.”
Kashmir Issue
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, criticized the previous government’s approach to the Kashmir issue, stating that they had reduced the Kashmir Highway to the “Srinagar Highway” and only vowed to raise their voice for Kashmir every Friday.
In contrast, Bilawal claimed that the current government took decisive action by shooting down Indian aircraft and compelling India to agree to a ceasefire. He emphasized that Kashmir has now transformed into a global issue, calling this development a significant success for the Kashmiri people.
“Kashmir is no longer an internal issue of India,” Bilawal stated during his address.
Iran-Israel Conflict
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, strongly condemned the recent attack on Iran during a session in the National Assembly. He criticized Israel’s actions, stating that the attack was based on falsehoods and a blatant violation of international law.
“Israel attacked Iran on the basis of lies,” Bilawal said, emphasizing that the assault on Iran’s nuclear facilities constituted a clear breach of international regulations. He warned that the repercussions of this attack would be felt across the entire region.
Bilawal also accused the United States of carrying out a major strike on Iran’s nuclear site, highlighting that the American public would not support involvement in this war. “By attacking Iran, the whole region has been put at risk,” he asserted.
Urging a peaceful approach, Bilawal suggested that the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict should be resolved through diplomacy rather than military aggression. He dismissed claims that Iran was close to developing nuclear weapons, stating that these allegations were fabricated. Furthermore, he condemned the heavy attack on Iran, which, according to him, was carried out without any concrete evidence.
