Wasim Akram made Cricket Australia’s Ambassador

Former captain of Pakistan cricket team and legendary bowler Wasim Akram has been appointed as the multicultural ambassador of Cricket Australia.

A total of 54 ambassadors of Cricket Australia include Ravi Shastri of India, former cricketers of Sri Lanka and Bangladesh Russell Arnold and Aminul Islam.

Australia’s Test opener Usman Khawaja, Fawad Ahmed, Scott Boland, former women’s captain Lisa Sthalekar and Mel Jones are also part of the ambassador programme.

These ambassadors have been appointed by Cricket Australia for a period of two years.

The Ambassador Program aims to provide a clear pathway to cricket in Australia to players, spectators and coaches from the South Asian region.
