ISLAMABAD: Residents of the federal capital are experiencing light rainfall and a chilly breeze since the morning, causing a significant drop in temperature.
Today, the maximum recorded temperature has reached 18°C, with the minimum expected to drop to around 3°C in the evening.
The humidity level in Islamabad is between 65% and 70%, with light winds blowing from the northwest at a speed of 8 km/h. The chance of precipitation today is 15%.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, this rain spell is expected to continue until March 2. Heavy rainfall has been reported in Quetta, Balochistan, which has further damaged communication infrastructure.
The Met Office has predicted that the heavy rain will persist for the next 24 hours, with the Kurram area in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa experiencing downpours and extremely cold temperatures due to snow in higher regions. Karak is also experiencing rainfall, which is expected to lead to a further drop in temperature.
