Weather Alert: PMD Predicts Thundershowers and Hailstorms Across Regions Today
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasts that today, regions including Upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and North-East Balochistan will experience partly cloudy skies, with chances of rain, strong winds, and thundershowers. Some areas may also witness hailstorms.
Weather in the metropolitan area of Islamabad and adjoining areas is expected to be partly cloudy with chances of rain along with very strong winds. Some parts may also experience thundershowers and hailstorms.
However, most of the districts of Punjab continue to experience very hot and dry weather conditions. Upper parts of the province will be relieved from heat due to rain and windy conditions. Hailstorms might also be experienced in cities like Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Talahang, Mianwali, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, and Faisalabad among others.
Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Shangla, Kohistan, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Buner, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, and Kurram in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be seeing strong winds while in some areas it will be raining thundershowers. Other districts like Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Haripur, Kohat, Bannu, Waziristan, and Dera Ismail Khan may also be showered with windy conditions and possible rain.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted that Sindh will stay exceptionally hot and dry on Wednesday. Balochistan will also have dry weather with the possibility of high temperatures in the southern districts during the day. With the possibility of strong winds and light rain affecting Zhob, Musakhel, Barkhan, Qila Saifullah, Kalat, Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, and Khuzdar in the afternoon.
There is a chance of rain, strong winds, and thundershowers in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, with partly cloudy conditions reported.
