Rain and thunderstorms expected in many parts of Pakistan today
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rain and thunderstorms across several areas of the country today.
Murree, Galiyat, and Rawalpindi are likely to see rain along with strong winds and possibly hail. The same weather is expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, and Abbottabad, bringing cooler air but also a risk of hail damage.
Strong windstorms and heavy rain are forecasted for areas like Mansehra, Haripur, Kohistan, Shangla, and Buner. Malakand, Waziristan, Kohat, Hangu, and Lakki Marwat may also experience similar weather.
Tribal regions including Bajaur, Mohmand, Karak, and Khyber, as well as Peshawar, could also see strong winds and hail.
Central and northern Punjab are also in the storm’s path. Cities like Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, and Gujrat are likely to experience thunder and hail. Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, and Narowal may also be affected.
Further south, Lahore, Sahiwal, Kasur, Okara, and Faisalabad are expected to receive rain, strong winds, and possibly hail. Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khushab, and Sargodha might also see similar weather.
Western cities like Mianwali and Dera Ghazi Khan are preparing for storms as well. In Sindh, cities including Sukkur, Ghotki, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Larkana, Khairpur, and nearby areas are also likely to receive rain and gusty winds.
