Weather Alert: PMD Predicts Rain, Thunderstorms

On Monday, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) issued a weather alert predicting light rain and scattered thunderstorms in various regions of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), while most other areas of the country are expected to remain hot and dry.

In Punjab, districts such as Bahawalnagar, Multan, Sahiwal, and Pakpattan are likely to receive light rainfall, accompanied by scattered thunderstorms. Light rain and gusty winds are also expected in Khanewal and Dera Ghazi Khan.

Partly cloudy skies with a chance of rain are predicted for the hilly areas of Murree and Galiyat, offering some respite from the prevailing dry conditions.

In KP, most districts are expected to experience rainfall. Areas including Kohistan, Battagram, Swat, and Mansehra are forecast to receive rain with gusty winds, with similar conditions anticipated in Abbottabad and Haripur.

In contrast, the provinces of Sindh and Balochistan are likely to continue facing extremely hot and dry weather, with no significant rainfall expected.

The department has advised citizens to remain alert of the weather, particularly in regions where thunderstorms and strong winds are forecast.
