PMD forecasts of extreme heat across Pakistan until June 21
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has warned that the ongoing heatwave will last until June 21. Temperatures are expected to stay very high across Islamabad and other parts of the country, creating serious health risks, especially for children, the elderly, and those with medical conditions.
In Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the plains will remain extremely hot. The same harsh weather is expected in the upper and central areas of Sindh, along with southern and eastern parts of Balochistan.
Authorities are asking people to stay indoors during peak hours, drink plenty of water, and take precautions against heatstroke. People working outside are especially at risk.
Hospitals have been told to prepare for a rise in heat-related illnesses, and relief teams are working to provide water and cooling supplies in the worst-affected areas. Some schools may shorten class hours to keep students safe from the dangerous heat.
Officials are urging everyone to be careful and follow health tips to stay safe during this extreme weather.
