Weather Alert: Rain forecast across Pakistan from June 25

The Meteorological Department has shared that moist winds have entered Pakistan’s upper and central areas. These winds are expected to get stronger in the next two days, bringing rainfall to many parts of the country.

A western weather system is also expected to arrive in upper areas on June 25, becoming more active on June 26. Here’s what to expect in different regions:

Sindh

From June 25 to 28, Karachi and many other cities in Sindh will likely see rain, wind, and thunderstorms. These cities include:

• Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Khairpur, Kashmore

• Hyderabad, Tharparkar, Mirpur Khas, Sanghar

• Jamshoro, Tando Allahyar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Thatta, Badin

Kashmir Region

From the evening of June 24 to July 2, areas in Azad Kashmir such as Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Kotli, and others can expect off-and-on rain and thunderstorms.

Gilgit-Baltistan

From June 26 to 29, areas including Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghizer, Shigar, and Diamer will see rain and stormy weather.

Punjab

From June 25 to July 1, many cities in Punjab will experience heavy rain with strong winds and thunder:

• Northern Punjab: Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum

• Central Punjab: Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujrat, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Sheikhupura, etc.

• Southern Punjab: Sahiwal, Jhang, Okara, Multan, D.G. Khan, Bahawalpur, and more

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

From June 25 to July 1, very heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and strong winds is expected in many cities including:

• Swat, Dir, Chitral, Malakand, Kohat, Bannu, D.I. Khan, Peshawar, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Mardan, and more

Balochistan

From June 25 night to June 28, rain and thunderstorms are expected in:

• Sherani, Loralai, Sibi, Kalat, Lasbela, Khuzdar, Dera Bugti, and others
