Weather forecast for Karachi today – New Monsoon Spell Likely on July 5 or 6

Light Rain in Various Parts of Karachi
June 30, 2025 – Karachi: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast partly cloudy and humid weather for Karachi over the next 24 hours, with the possibility of light drizzle in some parts of the city.
According to today’s weather report, temperatures in Karachi are expected to remain between 32°C and 34°C, while the minimum temperature recorded earlier in the morning was 29°C. Humidity levels are high, currently at 79%, and sea breezes are blowing at a speed of 11 km/h, providing some relief from the muggy conditions.
A PMD spokesperson added that a new monsoon system is likely to enter Sindh province around July 5 or 6, which could result in more rainfall across Karachi and surrounding areas. The exact impact and intensity of the system will be monitored closely in the coming days.
While recent rain spells in Karachi have brought much-needed relief from the scorching summer heat, they have also caused casualties and injuries due to urban flooding, infrastructure damage, and electrocution incidents. Authorities are advising citizens to remain cautious during rain-related emergencies and to avoid unnecessary travel during heavy downpours.
In other regions, thundershowers are expected in Kashmir, northeast Punjab, the Potohar region, Islamabad, and parts of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the next 12 hours. Light showers are also likely in the morning hours in some areas, while hot and humid weather will persist across much of the rest of Pakistan.
As the monsoon season continues, residents are urged to stay informed through official PMD updates and take precautionary measures to ensure safety during sudden weather changes.
