More Monsoon Rains Forecasted Across Pakistan, PMD Issues Warning
The Meteorological Department has forecasted increased monsoon rains over the coming days for Pakistan.
According to PMD, starting today, July 13, a system of western winds is expected to enter the country. This will likely bring rainfall to Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Between July 13 and July 17, various districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and Balochistan are expected to experience strong winds, thunder, lightning, and rain. Some areas may receive heavy downpours during this period.
Furthermore, from July 15 to 17, Sindh—including cities such as Tharparkar, Mirpur Khas, and Karachi—will also see rainfall. Authorities have issued warnings regarding potential flooding in rivers and streams, as well as landslides in hilly and mountainous regions due to the heavy rains.
