Several Regions to Experience More Rain Starting From Tomorrow: PDM Issues Alert

03 August, 2025 10:49

The Meteorological Department has forecast more rain across Pakistan starting from tomorrow till August 7.

In Islamabad, extreme heat and humidity persist despite rainfall in the twin cities overnight. The Meteorological Department predicts flooding in streams and rivers caused by these rains.

Strong winds, thunderstorms, and heavy rain are expected in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. The Meteorological Department also forecasts heavy rainfall in Punjab and Islamabad during this period. On August 6, Balochistan and Sindh will experience heavy rainfall as well.

Meanwhile, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a warning about intermittent monsoon rains expected across various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from August 4 to 7.

Thunderstorms, strong winds, and heavy downpours are predicted at some locations, prompting PDMA to advise concerned district administrations and departments to remain on high alert.

There is a significant risk of flooding in the upper and central districts, including Abbottabad, Mansehra, Swat, Chitral, Dir, and Malakand. Additionally, the districts of Kohistan, Buner, Peshawar, Mardan, Nowshera, and Dera Ismail Khan face threats of flooding.

PDMA further warns of flash floods in local streams, seasonal rivers, and major rivers. Landslides are expected in mountainous areas, while urban flooding may occur in city areas. Water levels in the Chitral, Swat, Panjkora, and Kabul rivers are also expected to rise due to the heavy rains.

Due to the anticipated heavy rains, flash floods in rivers and streams are likely, warns the Meteorological Department. Residents are urged to remain cautious and heed official advisories as the monsoon intensifies across the country.
