Karachi Turns Into River: Key Roads Submerged, Vehicles Stranded After Heavy Rain: Watch

19 August, 2025 13:19

Rain in Karachi submerged key roads, leaving vehicles stranded and causing severe traffic disruptions, while residents struggled with flooding and traffic jams.

At Numaish Chowrangi, Shahrah-e-Faisal, Dalmia Road, and Jahangir Road, rainwater accumulated, slowing down vehicular movement. Flooding on University Road, Qayyumabad, and Korangi Crossing further intensified the traffic chaos.

In addition, the roads in Nagan Chowrangi, Surjani, and North Karachi turned into ponds, leaving vehicles stranded and residents struggling to move through inundated streets.

The city’s old Urdu Bazaar and the KMC’s Sobhraj Hospital were submerged, while the Government Girls Fazal-ur-Rehman School was also inundated. All around Urdu Bazaar, rainwater accumulated, creating major difficulties for shopkeepers.

At Sobhraj Hospital, patients found no access routes due to the standing water. Shopkeepers of Urdu Bazaar stated that for the past 78 years, the area has faced the same situation after rains.

After rainfall in Azizabad, potholes appeared on the road. A motorcycle fell into one of the potholes, and a car was also damaged.
