Heavy Rains Expected in Punjab Till September 5, Flood Situation To Escalate
Lahore: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has forecast rainfall across various districts of the province until September 5, warning of a potential intensification in flood conditions due to rising river levels.
According to the PDMA, water flow in major rivers and headworks across Punjab is currently recorded as follows:
River Chenab:
Marala Headworks: 468,000 cusecs
Khanki Headworks: 339,470 cusecs
Qadirabad Headworks: 232,450 cusecs
Chiniot Bridge: 108,343 cusecs
Trimmu Headworks: 355,744 cusecs
River Ravi Update:
Jassar: 71,010 cusecs
Ravi Siphon: 54,190 cusecs
Shahdara: 53,630 cusecs
Other Key Locations:
Balloki Headworks: 117,655 cusecs
Sidhnai Headworks: 193,470 cusecs
River Sutlej Update:
GS Wala: 269,501 cusecs
Sulemanki Headworks: 122,736 cusecs
Islam Headworks: 95,727 cusecs
Panjnad Headworks: 182,107 cusecs
The PDMA has urged authorities and residents in vulnerable areas to remain alert, as continued rainfall may worsen the flood situation in the coming days.
