Heavy Rains Expected in Punjab Till September 5, Flood Situation To Escalate

Lahore: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has forecast rainfall across various districts of the province until September 5, warning of a potential intensification in flood conditions due to rising river levels.

According to the PDMA, water flow in major rivers and headworks across Punjab is currently recorded as follows:

River Chenab:

  • Marala Headworks: 468,000 cusecs

  • Khanki Headworks: 339,470 cusecs

  • Qadirabad Headworks: 232,450 cusecs

  • Chiniot Bridge: 108,343 cusecs

Trimmu Headworks: 355,744 cusecs

River Ravi Update:

  • Jassar: 71,010 cusecs

  • Ravi Siphon: 54,190 cusecs

  • Shahdara: 53,630 cusecs

Other Key Locations:

  • Balloki Headworks: 117,655 cusecs

  • Sidhnai Headworks: 193,470 cusecs

River Sutlej Update:

  • GS Wala: 269,501 cusecs

  • Sulemanki Headworks: 122,736 cusecs

  • Islam Headworks: 95,727 cusecs

  • Panjnad Headworks: 182,107 cusecs

The PDMA has urged authorities and residents in vulnerable areas to remain alert, as continued rainfall may worsen the flood situation in the coming days.
