Cold and Dry Weather to Persist Across Country; Dense Fog Likely in Plains

Cold and dry weather is set to continue across most parts of the country on Wednesday, with very cold to extremely cold conditions expected in northern regions, according to weather officials.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has also warned that moderate fog is likely to reduce visibility in the plains of Punjab and several districts of upper Sindh, particularly during morning and night hours, posing potential risks for road travel.

In Islamabad, cold and dry weather is expected to prevail throughout the day, with strong winds potentially developing in the afternoon.

Across Punjab, most districts will experience cold and dry conditions. Hill stations, including Murree, Galiyat, and surrounding areas, are expected to remain chilly. Moderate fog is forecast in Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Multan, Kot Addu, Jhang, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalnagar, Okara, Sahiwal, Kasur, Khanewal, Khanpur, Bahawalpur, and Rahim Yar Khan.

In Sindh, cold and dry weather will dominate most districts. Fog is likely to develop in Sukkur, Rohri, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Shaheed Benazirabad, Mohenjodaro, and nearby areas during morning and nighttime hours.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will also experience cold and dry conditions across most districts, while the northern regions are expected to face severe cold. Fog may occur in Peshawar, Swabi, Mardan, Charsadda, Nowshera, Dera Ismail Khan, and surrounding areas during early morning and night.

In Balochistan, cold and dry conditions will prevail across most districts, with extremely cold weather expected in northern areas of the province.

Meanwhile, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir are forecast to experience extremely cold and dry weather on Wednesday.

Authorities have advised residents to take necessary precautions against cold weather and reduced visibility, particularly in fog-prone regions.
