Karachi likely to receive rain and thunderstorms on Thursday
Karachi is likely to see a change in weather as a new system enters the region. This system is expected to bring rain and cooler conditions to the city.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain is expected in Karachi from Thursday afternoon to evening. In some areas, thunderstorms may also occur.
The rain system will affect other parts of Sindh as well. Districts such as Jamshoro, Dadu, Thatta, Sujawal, Hyderabad, and Tando Muhammad Khan are likely to receive rainfall. Thunderstorms are also expected in northern and eastern areas of Sindh, including Sukkur, Ghotki, Larkana, and Mirpurkhas.
Weather experts say Karachi’s dry conditions will change as clouds cover most of the sky. Morning humidity levels are expected to rise to 80 to 90 percent. After the rain system moves away, north-westerly winds from Balochistan will blow across the city.
The Met Office has warned residents to prepare for colder weather. Friday night is expected to be very cold, with minimum temperatures likely to fall between 7 and 9 degrees Celsius. Dry winds and lower humidity in the evening will make the weather feel even colder.
