Rain, Snow, and Gusty Winds Expected Across Pakistan

23 January, 2026 13:51

More intermittent rains and gusty winds are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and other parts of Pakistan on Friday evening and night. Moderate to heavy snowfall is also expected in the country’s hilly areas during this time.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a strong westerly wave is affecting most upper parts of Pakistan and will continue over the next 24 hours. This will bring more rain and wind to the Twin Cities, upper Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. Moderate to heavy rain or snow may occur in Kashmir, while the rest of the country is likely to remain cold and dry.

Weather for Saturday and Sunday

Most parts of Pakistan are expected to see cold and dry weather over the weekend. Freezing temperatures are likely in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and northern Balochistan.
