More rain is expected in Peshawar and many parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from Tuesday evening and night, and it may continue for the next two days with short breaks.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department said that a strong weather system (westerly wave) is active over most parts of Pakistan and will likely stay in the upper areas until April 9.

Where Rain is Expected

Rain with windstorms and thunderstorms is likely in many areas including Chitral, Swat, Dir, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Mardan, Nowshera, and Peshawar. Some mountain areas may also receive snowfall.

In some places, heavy rain and hailstorms are also expected during this period.

Possible Impacts

Heavy rain may cause flash floods in local streams in upper KP and Galiyat areas. There is also a risk of landslides in hilly regions.

Cities like Peshawar, Nowshera, and Mardan may face urban flooding. Strong winds, hail, and lightning can damage weak structures like electric poles, billboards, and solar panels. Crops may also be affected.

In Peshawar, the temperature is expected to stay between 27°C and 29°C on Wednesday and Thursday.
