If Israel wants war then Hezbollah ready for it: Official

Hezbollah has said that it does not want war, but if the Israeli enemy decides wage war then they are ready for it.

What we did in the south was a preemptive defence with the view to support Gaza, protect Lebanon and deter Israel, a high-ranking official of Lebanon’s Hezbollah said during an interview with Arabic-language al-Manar television channel .

Hezbollah Deputy Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem underscored the group’s great defence capabilities and warned the Israeli regime against underestimating its power to harm the occupying entity.

Qassem said the Lebanese resistance movement’s confrontation with the regime in the country’s south is just part of Hezbollah’s power.

He added: “Do not underestimate Hezbollah’s ability to harm Israel.” He said that what the resistance used on the south front is part of its weapons’ power and what is hidden is greater. He warned that the enemy must understand that if he hurts us more then he must suffer more.

The senior Hezbollah official said that any Lebanese support for Gaza is also in Lebanon’s interest. He said that Lebanon’s support for Gaza follows two goals – the first is to support Palestine while the second is to deter the enemy.
