Israeli intelligence warns of possible Iran attack ahead of US polls
Israeli intelligence has warned of a possible Iran attack on Israel potentially before the US presidential elections.
According to Axios, the anticipated assault could involve a considerable number of drones and ballistic missiles.
The current situation is significant as both countries have been engaged in an escalating conflict recently.
By leveraging pro-Iranian militias in Iraq for the attack, Iran may be attempting to mitigate the risk of a direct Israeli counterstrike against its territory.
The commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, Hossein Salami had asserted that Israel made a mistake during its recent airstrikes on Iran and warned that the response from Tehran would be “different from any scenario” Israel might expect.
A high-ranking Iranian official further stated that a “definitive and painful” retaliation is being planned, likely to occur before the US election.
Moreover, Chief of staff to Iran’s supreme leader Mohammad Mohammadi Golpayegani stated that retaliation is “certain” and will be “strong”.
