‘X becomes polluted media platform’: Top UK newspaper announces not to post editorial content on social media site
Britain’s leading newspaper The Guardian has announced that it will no longer upload its editorial content on social media website X, formerly known as Twitter.
According to the newspaper, the nature of live news reporting is such that The Guardian will also post links to X’s content on its pages from time to time.
It said the negative effects of posting on X (Twitter) have outweighed its benefits, and that our resources could be better used elsewhere to promote journalism.
According to the esteemed newspaper, the US presidential campaign has confirmed its fears that X (Twitter) has become a polluted media platform and X’s owner, Elon Musk, has used this platform for his political purposes.
