Trump’s pick for surgeon general killed her father in freak accident
US President-elect Donald Trump has nominated a female doctor, who accidentally killed her father, as the US’s next surgeon general. 48-year-old Dr Janette Nesheiwat will swear in within weeks of Trump’s January 20 inauguration to take the position as ‘the US’s top doctor’.
Glamorous Dr Nesheiwat is famous as a medical expert on Fox News in the United States. She has often spoken on how losing her father at a young age inspired her career in field of medicine. But The New York Times has revealed that when she was 13 she was involved in a freak accident, which killed her father at the family home in Florida’s Orlando.
A 1990 police report said that she told officers she was searching a pair of scissors and reached for a fishing tackle box on a shelf.
She added:‘I was in father’s bedroom at around 7.15am getting some scissors. I opened the fishing tackle box and the whole thing tipped over. ‘Something fell out of it and there was a loud noise. I saw blood on my father’s ear.’ As a result, 44-year-old Ben Nesheiwat succumbed to bullet injuries in the head next day. Police said a 38-calibre handgun was involved in the murder.
