Trump vows to end birthright citizenship
US President-elect Donald Trump has announced to end the birthright of US citizenship after coming into office next year.
Trump has announced that he will end birthright US citizenship after taking office in January, as he has expressed many times before.
In his first broadcast network interview with NBC‘s Meet the Press, he said: “We have to end it. It’s ridiculous.”
Trump, in the wide-ranging interview, also said he would pardon those involved in the 2021 Capitol riot. The US president-elect promised to issue a lot of executive orders on day one, including on the economy, energy, and immigration.
The birthright of American citizenship refers to immigrants or those foreigners who come to the United States for the purpose of education and then their children are born in the country, then they automatically get citizenship.
According to reports, Trump and his supporters believe that the law should be changed and there should be a stricter procedure for obtaining US citizenship.
Anti-Trump Americans, on the other hand, believe that the right to birthright citizenship is part of the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution and that it would be difficult to revoke or change it, if it were to be done, it would not be a good practice.
