Mother sells newborn child to settle husbands’ debt

In a heartbreaking event, a cruel mother in India sold her newborn to settle husband’s debts.
According to India media, the bizarre incident occurred in Ramnagar area of the state of Karnataka, where cruel mother sold her one-month old newborn to pay the debt.
The couple has five children and the husband reported the child missing to the police.
The husband told the police that they had a debt of Rs150,000, a few days ago my wife asked to sell the newborn to a childless couple, which he strictly forbade.
However, when he found the son was not at home, he asked wife, to which she replied that he was not well and was taken to a hospital with a relative.
The next day when the son did not come home, the couple had a quarrel.
Acting on the husband’s complaint, the woman was questioned by police and she first tried to mislead them but later confessed to selling the child.
She told police that she sold her son to a woman from Bengaluru for Rs1.5 lakh.
Police later arrested the child’s mother.
