Bashar Al-Assad’s wife Asma battling leukemia has 50pc chance of survival: report
Former Syrian president Bashar al-Assad’s wife Asma Asad has been diagnosed with leukemia, an aggressive cancer of the bone marrow and blood, once again.
According to British media reports, Asma Assad, the wife of former Syrian president Bashar al-Assad, is suffering from blood cancer and her condition is very bad. Doctors said the hope of Asma Asad’s survival is less than 50 per cent. British-born Asma Asad has been kept in isolation to avoid infection.
The report further states that Asma Asad’s father Fawaz Akhras is taking care of her in Moscow.
In May this year, the Syrian presidential palace announced that Bashar al-Assad’s wife Asma Assad was suffering from blood cancer.
Earlier, Asma was also suffering from breast cancer and she announced her recovery from breast cancer in 2019.
Before Bashar al-Assad left Syria, the 49-year-old former first lady had already arrived in Moscow for treatment. There were also reports that she is not happy in Moscow and wants to divorce her husband.
Bashar al-Assad’s family has not commented in this regard and the Kremlin has denied the divorce rumors.
Sources close to Bashar al-Assad’s family said Asma’s survival chances are less than 50 per cent.
