White House says DeepSeek AI raises national security concerns
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has said that the US officials are looking at the national security implications of the Chinese artificial intelligence app DeepSeek.
On the other hand, President Donald Trump’s crypto czar said it was possible that intellectual property theft could have been at play.
The press secretary said the National Security Council is reviewing the app’s implications and added that this is a wake-up call to the American AI industry.
Earlier, President Donald Trump considered the Chinese app DeepSec a major threat to the United States and is considering tougher measures.
Caroline said that President Trump’s goal is to take the United States to the world stage in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), so that the country remains at the forefront of the global technology race.
The spokesperson added that President Trump has issued more than 300 executive orders aimed at strengthening the nation’s security and economy.
These orders specifically include a strategy to impose a state of emergency on the southern border, aimed at deterring illegal immigration.
