Prince Karim Aga Khan passes away at 88 in Lisbon

Prince Karim Aga Khan, the spiritual leader of the Ismaili community, has passed away.

According to the announcement, Prince Karim Aga Khan died on February 4 in Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. He was 88.  Shah Karim’s family was present at the time of his death.

Maulana Shah Karim Al Hussaini was the 49th Imam of the Ismaili community.

Prince Karim Aga Khan has three sons Rahim Aga Khan, Ali Muhammad Aga Khan and Hussain Aga Khan while one daughter is Zehar Aga Khan.

It has been announced that Maulana Shah Karim’s funeral prayers will be offered in Lisbon, but the place of burial has not been announced at present.

The date and time will be announced once the arrangements are finalised. Shah Karim’s family and senior leaders of the Jamaat and people associated with Imamat Institutions will participate in the funeral prayer.
