US clarifies Trump’s Gaza proposal amid worldwide reaction

US President Donald Trump’s statement about the occupation of Gaza came after a strong reaction from all over the world.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that Trump has offered to take responsibility for the reconstruction of Gaza, and that when the area is being rebuilt, the people there will need to go and live elsewhere.

He said the details of Trump’s offer on Gaza were yet to be worked out. President Trump’s offer is unique. The president’s offer is not an enemy move.

On the other hand, the White House spokesman also clarified that President Trump does not intend to send US troops to Gaza. Trump wants a temporary transfer of Palestinians.

According to the White House spokesman, the president considers the involvement of the United States in the reconstruction of Gaza necessary for stability in the region. That doesn’t mean US troops will be stationed in Gaza, nor does it mean US taxpayers will fund the project.
