Modi’s BJP celebrates landslide New Delhi win
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that development had won after his party took back control of the capital province Delhi in local elections.
Modi said development has won, good governance has won.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is in government in the national parliament. But, since 1998 it has not controlled the local legislature in the capital Delhi so it is a symbolic and strategically important win.
In a social media post, Modi said that we will leave no stone unturned in ensuring the overall development of Delhi and making the lives of residents better.
According to election commission results, Arvind Kejriwal lost his seat to Modi’s BJP. The desert reflects wider damaging losses by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
AAP party had governed the sprawling megacity of more than 30 million people for most of the past decade.
In a video statement, Kejriwal said: “We accept the verdict and congratulate the BJP.”
Excited BJP supporters danced for joy outside party’s New Delhi headquarters as vote results from election were counted. They also waved flags and posters of Modi.
