Netanyahu proposes creation of Palestinian state within Saudi Arabia
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu rejected the two-state solution and proposed the creation of a Palestinian state within Saudi Arabia.
In an interview with Israeli media during his visit to the United States, Netanyahu said that the establishment of a Palestinian state is a threat to Israel’s security.
He said that the Saudis can build a Palestinian state in their country as they have a lot of land.
The Israeli prime minister was asked whether the establishment of a Palestinian state was necessary for Israel’s relations with Saudi Arabia. On this, Netanyahu said that the Palestinian state is a threat to Israel.
“The Palestinians had a state called Gaza, which was occupied by Hamas, and look at what happened on October 7 and what we got, so we don’t accept a Palestinian state,” Netanyahu said.
“I firmly believe that peace between Saudi Arabia and Israel is possible and I think it’s going to happen soon,” Netanyahu said of the possibility of normalisation of relations with Saudi Arabia.
Egypt has strongly condemned the Israeli prime minister’s statement to establish a Palestinian state on Saudi soil.
Egypt said the Israeli statement violates Saudi sovereignty, Saudi Arabia’s security is Egypt’s red line.
Earlier, the Saudi Foreign Ministry had said that the issue of normalization of relations with Israel could not be considered without the establishment of a Palestinian state.
