Elderly Imam brutally beaten on train in India
In a horrifying incident and elderly Imam was brutally assaulted on train over allegation of molestation, Indian media reported on Friday.
He was trying to collect donations for a madrasa in Gangpur City of Rajasthan. The railway authorities haven’t confirmed the allegations yet.
Imam’s family stated that he was on his seat reciting the holy Quran.
“Some men boarded the train when Maulana was boarding. They passed derogatory remarks on Muslims while sitting around him making sure that he heard the remarks,” they alleged.
“Then a woman pointed at the Imam and called him a Pakistani,” his family said.
When the matter escalated, the TT asked him to come near the door when the two men and the woman started to beat him mercilessly, they added.
He is a director at a madrasa in Gangapur city and had gone to Ankaleshwar to collect funds.
It was reported that during the altercation, two men immediately start to beat him. He was reportedly being slapped repeatedly.
The video of the assault was published by Jitendra Pratap Singh, a supporter of Narendra Modi Reacting to the video, Wasim Akram Tyagi wrote on X, “Any hateful extremist travelling in a train considers his right to attack a Muslim after seeing him.
A woman made false allegations against an old man and then a mob attacked him.”
