UN calls power outage by Israel in Gaza ‘genocide’ of Palestinians

Gaza children dying as Israel curtails medical evacuations: UN
Hamas has called Israel’s decision to cut off Gaza’s electricity “unacceptable pressure”.
The Israeli government has taken this step to pressure the Palestinian resistance and release the hostages.
“We strongly condemn Israel’s decision to deprive Gaza of food, medicine and water,” Izzat al-Rashq, a member of Hamas’ political office, said in a statement.
UN Special Representative for the Occupied Palestinian Territories Francesca Albanese reacted strongly to israel’s decision.
He wrote: ”Genocide Alert’ on social media platform ‘X’, saying that as a result of the power outage, the availability of clean water will also not be possible. “Countries that are not imposing sanctions or arms shipments on Israel are helping Israel in this historic and preventable genocide,” he added. ”
After the power outage, water treatment plants in Gaza will also not be able to work, leaving millions of Palestinians with severe drinking water shortages. Human rights groups have called the move a “war crime” and a “collective punishment”.
