‘Don’t write on Gaza, Ukraine’, Columbia University cautions students

Columbia University has warned non-American students on the issue of Gaza and Ukraine.
The university has warned non-American students not to publish articles on Gaza, Ukraine and student arrests, or they could face a serious situation from the Trump administration.
The administration of Columbia University has gathered faculty members and students of the Journalism School and warned that academic achievements and personal freedom could also be threatened if the Trump administration’s displeasure is met.
Media law professor Start Karl told the students that they should not have comments related to the Middle East on social media, to which the Palestinian student objected. The dean of the Journalism School bluntly said that this is a time full of danger and no one can save the students from the Trump administration.
Over the past year, Columbia University has been a hotbed of pro-Palestinian protests.
The Trump administration canceled $400 million in aid to the university a few days ago, and the next day immigration agents arrested Mahmoud Khalil, a recently graduated Arab student, and Khalil’s university residence was also terminated.
In this regard, President Trump said that Khalil’s green card will be canceled and he will be deported to his native country.
