Amritsar’s Golden Temple comes under attack

Two men barged into the Golden Temple in Amritsar and attacked them with iron rods.

According to Indian media, five people were seriously injured in the attack, out of which three are in critical condition.

Police said two people had been detained at the scene, one of whom was the attacker and the other his assistant.

Police added that a recce of the area was carried out before the attack. The motive behind the attack is still under investigation.

The investigating officer said that the incident took place near the community kitchen or Guru Ramdas Langar.
