Judge orders Trump admin to reinstate thousands of sacked workers

A US judge has ordered President Donald Trump’s administration to reinstate thousands of federal employees fired.
California District Judge William Alsup ordered that probationary federal employees, who were fired in recent weeks by President Donald Trump under extensive layoffs in the federal workforce, be reinstated immediately.
The judge ordered six federal agencies — the Department of Defence, Veterans Affairs, Agriculture, Energy, the Interior and the Treasury — to reinstate employees who were fired by the Trump administration.
He added that the Trump administration tried to ignore the concerns of federal employees and falsely claimed that their performance was the reason for their dismissal.
District Judge William’s decision is being described as the Trump administration’s biggest judicial defeat so far. Elon Musk was leading the Trump administration’s move to fire federal employees, aimed at weakening the federal bureaucracy.
White House Press Secretary Carolyn Levitt accused the judge in a statement of trying to take away the power to unconstitutionally employ and fire from the executive branch, and indicated that an appeal could be filed against the decision.
The White House press secretary said that the president has the right to use the powers of the entire executive branch, no district court judge can use the power of the entire judicial system to stop the president’s agenda.
