Modi joins Trump-owned social media platform
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has created an account on social media platform “Truth Social”, which is owned by US President Donald Trump.
In his first post on Truth Social, Narendra Modi shared a picture with his “good friend” US President Trump. In the caption of the picture, he wrote, “I am very happy to be on Truth Social, and here I look forward to connecting with all the enthusiastic voices and having meaningful conversations in the times to come.”
With this post, Modi has also entered the growing digital connections between the two leaders.
In his second post, the Indian prime minister recently shared a link to a three-hour-long podcast with renowned podcaster and computer scientist Lex Friedman.
The podcast covered topics ranging from leadership to global affairs. Trump himself highlighted the podcast, which further strengthened the relationship between the two leaders. “Thank you, my friend, President Trump,” Modi said in his message. I talked about my life’s journey, India’s cultural outlook, global issues and other topics. ”
During Sunday’s podcast, Modi revealed that he and Trump are deeply connected because of a shared approach to prioritising countries. He also highlighted the mutual trust that president Joe Biden’s administration had.
Modi referred to an incident during Trump’s first term when during the ‘Howdy Moody’ event in Houston, the US president accepted a request to take a round of the stadium ignoring security protocols.
