Trump admin begins firing employees of VOA

The Trump administration has started firing employees of the state-funded media Voice of America.

According to the news agency, hundreds of contract employees of VOA have received e-mails of dismissals, informing them that the term will end on March 31.

The report said the most of the dismissed employees were working in VOA’s non-English services.

Earlier, President Donald Trump signed an executive order that ordered to reduce funding to VOA and six other government media houses.

Voice of America broadcasts in 40 languages of the world.

The move is being strongly criticised  inside and outside America.
