19 March, 2025 23:52

The International Astronomical Center has confirmed that it will be impossible to see the Shawwal moon on March 29 in Arab and other Islamic countries.

According to the International Astronomical Center, the reason for not seeing the moon of Eid-ul-Fitr on March 29 is that the moon will set before sunset.

Due to which it will be impossible to see the moon with eyes or telescope. In most countries, the month of Ramazan will be 30 days.

Eid-ul-Fitr is likely to be celebrated on the same day i.e. March 31 in other Arab countries including Saudi Arabia and other Islamic countries including Pakistan.

In contrast, some countries such as Mauritania, Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia will have a partial solar eclipse on March 29.

According to the traditional moon sighting in these countries, it can be decided to celebrate Eid on Sunday, March 30.

In Pakistan, SUPARCO had predicted that shawwal moon is likely to be sighted on March 30 and Eid will be celebrated on March 31, 2025.
