UAE issues new Dh100 curency note ahead of Eidul Fitr
Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) has introduced a new Dh100 banknote, crafted from long-lasting polymer material.
This latest issuance features a contemporary design and advanced security elements, forming a key part of the CBUAE’s Third Issuance of the National Currency Project.
On the front, the note highlights the Um Al Quwain National Fort, an emblem of the UAE’s historical legacy, while the reverse side presents an image of the Port of Fujairah.
Set to enter circulation on March 24, the new banknote will be used alongside existing Dh100 notes. Banks and exchange houses have been directed to update their ATMs and counters to accept the polymer currency, which retains full legal tender status.
Polymer banknotes are known for their extended lifespan—lasting at least twice as long as conventional paper notes—making them a more durable and eco-friendly alternative.
Additionally, the new Dh100 note includes tactile Braille markings, allowing blind and visually impaired individuals to identify its value with ease
