‘Indian interference rocked Canada election campaign’

Canada’s Conservative Party has accused India of interfering in the elections.
Party leader Pierre Poileur has claimed that Indian agents tried to influence canada’s election process.
According to the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS), there is clear evidence of India’s interference and could target Canadian communities and democratic processes. The report said that in the 2022 elections, Indian agents were involved in fundraising and organized conspiracy.
The Canadian government has expressed serious concern over these steps of India, after which the relations between the two countries have become more tense.
The Globe and Mail newspaper also revealed in its report that India’s election interference is part of a larger conspiracy to influence all political parties in Canada.
Canada’s Election Integrity Task Force has warned that Indian agents are using tools such as artificial intelligence (AI), proxy networks and online disinformation to influence the outcome of elections.
Analysts say that the international community will have to take notice of these activities of India so that the democratic process can be secured.
