When is Eid al-Fitr 2025? Moon sighting dates & timings

The date of Eidul Fitr is based on the sighting of the Shawwal moon on the 29th day of Ramazan. If the crescent is visible then the Eid is celebrated the next day, otherwise, the fast continues for one more day, and the religious festival is observed on the 30th day of the holy month.

This year, if the moon is seen on March 29, the Eid will be on 30th,  otherwise, it will fall on 31st.

Countries such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE, the USA, and the UK rely on moon sightings to confirm the Eid date. Islamic scholars will sight the Shawwal moon on March 29.

If sighted, Eid will be observed on March 30, otherwise, it will be on March 31. The announcement is made by religious authorities in each country.
