Hamas sees France’s plan to recognize Palestinian state a ‘significant move’
Hamas has described French President Emmanuel Macron’s announcement—that France could recognize a Palestinian state by June—as an “important step,” following criticism of the plan by Israel’s foreign minister.
Hamas official Mahmud Mardawi told AFP:
“We welcome the statement by French President Emmanuel Macron expressing his country’s readiness to recognize the State of Palestine.”
He added, “This is an important step, and if implemented, it would represent a positive shift in the international stance towards the legitimate national rights of the Palestinian people.”
Meanwhile, preparations have begun to force Palestinians to migrate from the Gaza Strip, says Israeli media.
According to details, preparations have been started to forcibly settle Palestinians from the Gaza Strip in tent settlements near the Turkish border in the north of Syria.
Regarding this plan, Israeli media have claimed that Qatar and Turkey are in contact with the Syrian government regarding forced migration.
Israel and the United States have previously proposed plans to settle Palestinians in Syria. U.S. media have also reported that the US and Israel are interested in resettling Gaza residents in Syria.
