Major Cyberattack Hits India: PM’s website hacked and Power Grid Compromised

Indian PM’s website hacked: Key websites, surveillance systems compromised
A major cyberattack, reportedly launched by Pakistan, has caused widespread disruption across India. According to national media, multiple Indian websites have been hacked, including the official website of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Military and Satellite Systems Targeted
Reports say that India’s military satellite has also been jammed and is now inoperative. This satellite was critical for defense communications and surveillance.
Power Grid Hacked in Maharashtra
One of the biggest targets was the Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited. After the cyberattack, power across the state went out completely. Experts say the attack also deleted all records related to domestic and commercial electricity meters.
Government and Defense Websites Breached
Dozens of important websites were reportedly hacked during this operation. These include:
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) official website
Crime Research Investigation Agency
Mahanagar Telecommunication Company Limited
Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML)
All India Naval Technical Supervisory Staff Association
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited
Border Security Force (BSF)
Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI)
All content from these websites has been wiped out. Data from the Indian Air Force, Maharashtra Election Commission, and other sensitive platforms has also been leaked.
Surveillance Compromised
The cyberattack also breached more than 2,500 surveillance cameras, raising serious concerns about national security.
Situation Still Developing
Authorities are still investigating the full extent of the damage. The government has not yet confirmed who is responsible, but early reports strongly suggest a Pakistani cyber team is behind the operation.
