Trump demands Apple stop manufacturing iPhones in India

23 May, 2025 22:42

United States (US) President Donald Trump once again demands Apple not to manufacture iPhones in India.

President Trump sent a clear message to Apple manufacturing in India on his X account, saying:

“iPhones should only be manufactured in America, not in India.”

The president warned that if Apple continues to manufacture phones in India, it will have to pay a 25% tax.

Notably, a few days ago, the US President told Apple CEO Tim Cook that “he doesn’t want Apple to manufacture its products in India.”

The economists said in this regard that Trump’s growing distrust of India raises questions about the Modi government’s policies.

The economists further claimed that the Modi government’s failed economic policies have made India unreliable for American industry.

The economic experts stated that Trump has repeatedly urged American companies to leave India and return to the United States.

The expert thinks that President Trump’s repeated warnings actually indicate America’s distrust of India.
