Pakistani-origin mother, three children burn to death in London

A 41-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following a tragic house fire in Brent, north-west London, that claimed the lives of a mother and her three children.
According to the Metropolitan Police, the man was taken into custody outside the property and remains detained.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Tillett Close in Stonebridge around 1:20 AM on Saturday. Upon arrival, they discovered the victims: a 43-year-old woman, her 15-year-old daughter, and two sons aged eight and four, as reported by the BBC.
The blaze destroyed two adjoining three-storey terraced homes. Police said two other family members—a woman in her 70s and a teenage girl—were also rescued and taken to the hospital. Their current conditions have not been disclosed.
Local MP for Brent East, Dawn Butler, expressed her sorrow in a social media post, stating, “Devastated to see the fatal fire at homes in Tillett Close last night.” She added, “My prayers are with the family and friends affected by this very sad tragedy.”
In a statement issued Saturday afternoon, Superintendent Steve Allen confirmed that the woman who died was the mother of the three children.
Approximately 70 firefighters and eight fire engines from fire stations in Wembley, Park Royal, and Willesden responded to the blaze, which was reported by nearby residents.
