Malta announces to recognise State of Palestine next month

Maltese Prime Minister Robert Abela announced on Sunday that Malta will officially recognize the State of Palestine next month, according to Anadolu Agency.
The announcement was made during a political event where Abela addressed both local and global issues, placing special emphasis on the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, as reported by Malta Today.
“We cannot ignore this escalating human tragedy,” Abela was quoted as saying, referring to Israel’s devastating bombardment of Gaza, which has claimed the lives of nearly 54,000 Palestinians, the majority of whom were women and children.
Abela emphasized that the decision is a moral obligation, and confirmed that Palestine will be recognized following a conference scheduled for June 20.
